Having a two year old son means constantly talking about trains, tractors, and trucks. I wouldn’t say I am well versed on them though. I mean I am a designer for goodness sakes, not a tractor man; but, I have come to learn my fair share about them over time in order to better teach my son. Since my son first started pointing out tractors and would beg me to hoist him up over the fence to see the train pass by, I have purposely looked up train routes and tractor mechanics and now have realized how much I appreciate all these vehicles and what they do for our society. Thus, the reason why all things train, tractor, and truck related in design catch my eye these days. I’m immediately drawn to their beauty and brought back to my comfort place of my son and all things that make America really great.
Needless to say, that is why this inspiration room from Uttermost has been sitting on my desktop for months. The rail tie speaks volumes. It’s the complete focal piece of this design and immediately drew me in. And will draw everyone else in as well.
Roughed and distressed, the railroad pendant emulates a little history in the otherwise modern design style. Espresso stained worn wood, heavy chains and bronze metal accents blend perfectly and elaborately to create this stunning piece. Nothing beats the open faced antiqued bulbs effortlessly wrapped around the tie. It’s a balanced but cultured lighting fixture that represents a more longstanding tradition and that is why we can’t get enough of it.
Loved his piece? You may then just love this oversized rustic chandelier with the same decorative accents. Hang it over a large dining table or as the center piece in a foyer or entryway. Either way, it is sure to engage your visitors in conversation.
